Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

Everything you need to know about how ResumeReviewer analyzes and optimizes your resume.

1. Is my resume data safe and private?

Yes, 100%. ResumeReviewer is architected with a strict privacy-first, client-side model. All document parsing, text extraction, and ATS diagnostics happen directly inside your web browser's local memory on your own device.

2. Do you store or upload my resume to any server?

No. Your resume file is never uploaded to our servers, saved in any external cloud database, or shared with third-party recruiters. Once you close or refresh your browser tab, your session data can be cleared immediately.

3. What file formats are supported?

ResumeReviewer supports standard text-based PDF (.pdf), Microsoft Word (.docx), and plain text (.txt) files. For the best ATS compatibility, avoid uploading scanned image-only PDFs where text cannot be highlighted.

4. How is the ATS score calculated?

Our multi-dimensional scoring engine evaluates your resume across key criteria used by real Applicant Tracking Systems: section completeness (Contact, Summary, Experience, Education, Skills), keyword alignment with your target role or job description, measurable impact metrics, action verb strength, and formatting parsability.

5. Is ResumeReviewer completely free to use?

Yes! ResumeReviewer is completely free for students, freshers, and job seekers. There are no paywalls, hidden subscriptions, or mandatory sign-ups required to run a full diagnostic analysis on your resume.

6. Can I use the tool multiple times?

Absolutely. You can upload, edit, and re-analyze your resume as many times as you like. In fact, we encourage you to iteratively refine your resume and test it against different job descriptions before submitting each application.

7. Does ResumeReviewer work for non-tech jobs as well?

Yes. While our built-in role benchmarks include deep coverage for software engineering, data science, and IT roles, the core ATS structural analysis, impact quantification checks, and custom job description keyword matching work effectively for business, finance, marketing, operations, and core engineering fields.

8. How accurate is the keyword matching against job descriptions?

When you paste a specific job description or select a target role, our analyzer extracts essential technical skills, domain competencies, and tools from the posting and cross-references them against your resume text, highlighting both matched proficiencies and critical missing keywords you should address.

9. What is the Placement Staff Portal?

In addition to individual resume reviews, ResumeReviewer includes a Placement Staff Portal that allows university placement coordinators and educators to batch-evaluate up to 60 student resumes simultaneously from a ZIP archive or folder and export ranked class reports.
